Samsung ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ 2024 Finalists Announced for Grand Finale
Samsung India announced the top 10 teams for ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ 2024. These teams will compete in the grand finale, presenting their ideas to a jury of Samsung leaders and industry experts.
Samsung India has revealed the top 10 teams for 'Solve for Tomorrow' 2024, its flagship CSR initiative. These teams will now move forward to the grand finale, where they will showcase their innovative ideas before a distinguished jury, including Samsung leadership and prominent industry figures. The selected teams hail from some of India’s most remote regions, such as Golaghat and Kamrup Rural in Assam, Jhalawar in Rajasthan, Udupi in Karnataka, and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, underscoring the program’s far-reaching impact across the country.
The 'Solve for Tomorrow' 2024 program has attracted participants from some of India’s most remote areas, including Imphal in Manipur, East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya, and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. These students were driven to create solutions that tackle societal challenges, aligning with Samsung’s mission to harness technological innovation to enhance lives, especially in underprivileged communities.
The finalists were selected through a selection process, which included multiple rounds of pitch presentations to a Samsung jury and mentorship sessions with experts from Samsung and the Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi. Each of the 20 teams received a grant of INR 20,000 to support prototype development. Additionally, teams from the youth track were awarded the latest Samsung Galaxy laptops, while those from the school track received Galaxy tablets as part of their reward.
Solve for Tomorrow Introduces Two Distinct Track
This year, the 'Solve for Tomorrow' program features two distinct tracks: School Track and Youth Track, each tailored to specific themes and age groups. Both tracks will run concurrently, offering equal opportunities and a level playing field for all participants. The program also introduced a new learning initiative: design-thinking workshops held in over 100 schools across India for students in the School Track. These workshops focused on cultivating problem-solving skills by presenting situational challenges and guiding students in developing innovative solutions.

In the third edition of the program, students submitted their ideas under two main themes: 'Community and Inclusion' and 'Environment and Sustainability.' Within these categories, many ideas aimed to address critical issues such as education and resource access for underserved communities, challenges in experiential learning, digital literacy, water conservation, and arsenic pollution.
“The ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ programme has been able to expand the boundaries of creativity and capability for all participants, ultimately preparing them not only for the finale but for their future endeavours as well. Through the programme, we aim to equip the participants with technical skills, instill them with confidence and help them in thinking innovatively.” said SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia.
“Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ programme has been a substantial contributor in providing these students with the right mentorship and training needed to refine, elevate and nurture their ideas. FITT takes immense pride in being a part of this esteemed platform, where young innovators are empowered with the skills and confidence that will remain integral to their future journeys,” said Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, Managing Director, FITT, IIT Delhi.
