BE/B.Tech admission in Tamil Nadu is done based on the online counselling process called TNEA. There is no state-level entrance exam for admission in Tamil Nadu. Candidates have to register and appear for the online Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA counselling held every year. 10+2 passed/appearing candidates can apply for TNEA counselling. Admission will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200. TNEA 2026 counselling process includes registration, assignment of random numbers, Certificate verifications, rank list publication, and finally the counselling. The counselling rounds will include steps like Choice Filling, Allotment, Confirmation of Allotment, and Reporting to the College/TFC and payment of fees depending upon their confirmation.
All the candidates who are satisfied with the currently allotted seat and have opted for “Accept and Upward” will be given tentative allotment order. They must report to the nearest TFCwithin the date given in the allotment order and pay the tuition fees and submit their original certificates for holding the current seat. Non reporting and nonpayment of fees, will be considered as not willing to join and the allotment order will be cancelled.
