UPTAC 2026 Round 2 Choice Filling Starts; Round 1 Fee Payment Deadline Extended to July 22

The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has started the UPTAC 2026 Round 2 choice filling and choice modification process for BTech admissions through the Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC). Candidates who opted for the Float option after the Round 1 seat allotment can now modify, reorder, add or delete their college and branch preferences by logging in to the official counselling portal.

Along with opening the Round 2 choice filling window, AKTU has also extended the last date to pay the Round 1 seat acceptance fee till July 22, 2026 (6 PM). Candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round 1 but have not yet completed the fee payment must do so within the revised deadline to remain eligible for further counselling.

UPTAC 2026 Round 2 choice filling: Important dates

According to the revised counselling schedule, the Round 2 choice filling and locking process will remain open till July 22. The Round 2 seat allotment result is scheduled to be announced on July 24. Candidates who receive a seat in the second round will then have to complete seat acceptance formalities, including fee payment and willingness submission, within the prescribed schedule.

Candidates satisfied with their allotted seat can choose the Freeze option, while those seeking a better allotment in subsequent rounds should select Float. Applicants are advised to carefully review their choices before the locking deadline, as these preferences will be considered for Round 2 seat allotment.

What should candidates do now?

Candidates participating in Round 2 should log in using their application credentials and review the list of participating institutes and available branches before modifying their preferences. Those who have not paid the Round 1 seat acceptance fee must complete the payment by July 22 to avoid cancellation of their allotted seat.

After the Round 2 seat allotment is declared on July 24, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete the next admission formalities within the stipulated timeline.
