Haryana state-run schools to provide free books to students of classes 9 to 12

The NCERT books are being taught in government schools of the state from class 9 to 12. The books cost around Rs 650 to Rs 700 per student per class.

On Tuesday, Education Minister of Haryana, Kanwar Pal, informed that all the students of Haryana state-run schools studying in class 9 to 12 will be given free books. He further informed that the state government-operated schools are already offering free school bags, books, uniforms, and other stationery to the students from class 1 to 8.

This resolution to offer free books to the students studying in class 9 to 12 will consist of spending of almost Rs 41.47 crore, as per the minister’s statement. He further informed that the central government has mentioned executing ''Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019''. This has been suggested by the central government to spread the probability of free education from class 8 to 12. Going by the recommendation, the Haryana government has already decided to embrace it.

He further stated that NCERT books are being taught in government schools of the state from class 9 to 12. The books cost around Rs 650 to Rs 700 per student per class. He informed that the total number of students studying in class 9 to 12 is 6,19,256.

In recent times, the Haryana government has been taking various measures to perform better in the field of education. Haryana has been a fertile ground for many sportspersons and now it is also making sure to produce good students in academics by offering free books and stationery.
