Haryana to have more 'Sanskriti Model Schools': Education Minister
Haryana to open up more Sankskriti Model Schools in the state, the Education Minister Kanwar Pal announced.
Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal has announced that the government has decided to open more 'Sanskriti Model Schools' across the state. The move has been taken to improve the quality of education in schools. The Minister on August 5, 2020, informed that apart from the 22 schools already functioning, the state will be opening more schools. The decision regarding the same was taken during a meeting held to discuss the new New National Education Policy (NEP 2020) along with other issues. The Minister further informed that a total of 104 Sanskriti Model Schools will be made operational once more schools are opened.
“These schools will further improve the quality of education in the state,” he said. The Government of Haryana has also decided to open 1,000 play way schools. These schools will help in providing quality education and learning to students aged 3 to 6 years.
Recently officers were directed to upgrade Anganwadi centres, which are currently running inside the premises of primary schools, into smart learning play ways by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The Chief Minister had earlier said that “In order to enhance the cognitive learning in children, the curriculum in these schools will be designed in a form of animations and audio-visuals."
Recently the schools in Haryana had been allowed by the High Court to collect the school fee in lieu of the online classes they were conducting. The court however barred the schools from increasing the fee as it would mean extra burden on parents in the testing times due to lockdown that was imposed in the country.
