24 LPU Students to Represent India in Paris Olympics 2024
LPU Students Make Up 21% of the Indian Team at the Paris Olympics including Neeraj Chopra, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, Harmanpreet Singh, Hardik Singh and others.
Lovely Professional University (LPU) students will be representing India in the Paris Olympics 2024. Interestingly, 21% of the Indian team who is visiting Paris for the Olympics 2024 consists of LPU students. A total of 24 students from LPU have received the prestigious chance to represent India at the international location, highlighting the university's commitment towards sports and education. The students will be participating in various sports disciplines including javelin, wrestling, hockey, athletics, weightlifting, shooting, and boxing.

Notable LPU athletes nominated for the Paris Olympics 2024 include Neeraj Chopra, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina, Jasmine, Preeti, Anshu, Nisha, Vinesh, Arjun Singh Cheema, Kiran Pahal, Balraj Panwar, Paramjit, Vikas, Dhiraj Bommadevra, Tarun Deep Roy. Further, Indian Hockey Team Members Captain Harmanpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Shamsher Singh, Mandeep Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Manpreet Singh, Gurjant and Jarman Preet Singh will also be a part of the Team India.
The 33rd Olympiad will be conducted from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and will feature 329 events across 32 sports during 754 sessions of ceremonies and competitions. As many as 10,500 athletes from across the world will participate.
In the previous Olympics (Tokyo Olympics 2020), 13 LPU students represented India in javelin, wrestling, hockey, and athletics. From these 12 students brought 3 medals including 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

LPU does not offer direct admission. However, admission to few courses is merit-based. Aspirants scoring a 65% aggregate have a good chance of getting admission in LPU. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the university to apply online. To apply for LPU, aspirants need to register for LPUNEST for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. LPU admission to most of the courses is based on LPUNEST score. However, national-level entrance exam scores are also accepted for admission to BA LLB (Hons), MBA, BTech, etc. Candidates must complete Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG courses. The selection rounds are followed by counselling and document verification.
LPUNEST is a national-level exam conducted by LPU for admission to various courses. LPUNEST forms the basis of eligibility for some programmes and also for the scholarship programmes. The amount of scholarship is determined by the marks and rank obtained by candidates in the exam. LPUNEST 2025 exam pattern elucidates the scheme of the question paper. Candidates seeking admission through LPUNEST 2025 must check the exam pattern prior to starting the preparation. LPUNEST exam pattern imparts details like total number of question, subjects, marking scheme, exam duration, etc. The entrance test is neither hard nor easy. Candidates must prepare well to score the qualifying marks in the entrance exam.
