AU has eased the admission criteria for undergraduate courses for the academic session 2025-26. The choice of domain subjects in which candidates appeared or CUET has been relaxed to provide easy access for the students.

Allahabad University

Allahabad University has made some relaxations in terms of the domain subject for which the candidate takes the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).  Previously, students admitted to BA-LLB programme had to take a legal knowledge test in the specific domain, further, admission to BFA Fine Arts and BPA programme required a music course. However, AU eliminated these obligatory subjects, making it simple for students to enroll in these courses.

NTA will conduct the CUET UG entrance examination between May 8 to June 1, 2025. Admission to Allahabad University and its affiliated colleges is offered based on CUET UG exam scores. Students who qualify the entrance examination have to select their preferred subject for admission. However, the CUET 2025 subject mapping is the main concern of several students appearing for the entrance test.

The matrix behind the new relaxed norms and choice of domain subject by Allahabad University aims to ease the admission process for students. For admission to BA-LLB (Hons), BA Media Studies, Five Year Integrated Programme in Management (BBA & MBA), BFA, BVoc Media Production, and Five Year Integrated Programme in Disaster Management and Environmental Studies, the candidate needs to pass CUET exam in English or Hindi and a general aptitude test, both of which are compulsory subjects, as reported by TOI. With regard to the third programme, there are approximately 22 subjects in which a candidate can appear for the exam and apply for admission.
