AMU Postpones Sport Quota Admission 2024 Amid Alleged Irregularities
AMU admission through sports quota which was granted to 121 students has been postponed owing to allegations of irregularities in the sports quota admission procedure.Â
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has postponed the admission process for sports quota because of alleged irregularities in the admission process. AMU is among the top universities worldwide known for its academic excellence that offers admission through entrance examination scores. Admission to the university is offered through several quotas including the sports quota.Â
Reportedly, the academic session for 121 students, who were admitted through sports quota, is uncertain because of internal conflict within the university. Recently, the university has been allegedly accused of having irregularities in the sports quota admission process. The conflict led to student protests. Consequently, the office of the examination controller postponed the admission process till further notice, as reported by News18.Â
The delay in the admission process will adversely affect the Aligarh Muslim University's performance in the inter-university sports competition which will be organised soon, as there will be a lack of adequate preparation time for the students.Â
The academic session has already started on August 1 but students through the sports quota are yet to be enrolled. However, the university has said that they are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the process and the new admission schedule will be announced soon.Â
