Ashoka University, Axis Bank Signs MoU to Strengthen Interdisciplinary Research with INR 104 Crore Investment

The collaboration between Ashoka University and Axis Bank aims to enhance the quality of PhD, Post-Doctoral, and Research Programmes, endowing interdisciplinary research and facilitating cutting-edge scientific inquiry for the students.
Ashoka University has partnered with Axis Bank to boost its PhD, Post-Doctoral, and Research programs. They signed an agreement called "Co-building Interdisciplinary Sciences and Research at Ashoka University." This partnership will enhance the university's research environment and support the creation of advanced scientific facilities. The collaboration seeks to create a research and interdisciplinary education ecosystem by investing in PhD and Post-Doctoral programs.
With the contribution received by Axis Bank, Ashoka University aims to support the development of advanced science laboratories, equipped with state-of-the-art tools for Neurosciences, Behavioural Studies, and Physics research to make sure that top-tier research infrastructure is available to both faculty and students of the university.
Somak Raychaudhury, Vice Chancellor of Ashoka University, shared his delight with the collaboration with Axis Bank saying “This initiative is a testament to our commitment to interdisciplinary education and research excellence. By building state-of-the-art facilities and offering unparalleled opportunities for scholars, we are setting a new benchmark for research and education in India, aligning it with the highest global standards. Importantly, the university will be able to address the important issue of retaining top talent within the country which otherwise transitions abroad for want of better-funded programmes.”
INR 104 Crore to Be Invested
Axis Bank will contribute through a CSR grant of INR 104 crores over the next four years to fund the program. The contribution will enhance the university's ability to attract scholars to PhD and Post-Doctoral programs by providing competitive fellowships and research grants with proper funds for the needful. This support will allow scholars to focus entirely on their research and studies without financial concerns.
