The IGNOU 39th Foundation Day event will be webcasted at webcast.ignouonline.ac.in as well as ignouonline.ac.in/gyandarshan on November 19, 2024. 

IGNOU Indira Gandhi National Open University will celebrate its 39th foundation day on November 18, 2024. The authorities have notified that Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Hon'ble Minister of State for Education, Government of India will be the chief guest of the event. Besides, Prof T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE will share his insights during the foundation day lecture.

The IGNOU 39th foundation day will be conducted at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Convention Centre, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi. However, the live telecast of the event will be webcast on webcast.ignouonline.ac.in as well as ignouonline.ac.in/gyandarshan. Meanwhile, the university has announced the IGNOU National Photography Competition 2024-25 on the topic 'Spirituality, Service and Cultural Pride: Sami Vivekananda's Message for Indian Youth'. Interested students can participate in the competition where the winner of the competition will get INR 10,000 along with a certificate.

Further, the first and second runner-ups will get INR 7,000 and INR 5,000 as prize money, respectively. Besides, a consolation prize of INR 2,000 will be given to three students while the 50 other participants will receive quality participation certificates. The last date to submit the photographs is December 20, 2024, at majem@ignou.ac.in and the results will be announced on January 12, 2025. 

Students must note that only self-clicked pictures shall be submitted in order to participate in the competition. Maximum two photographs shall be submitted and the viewpoint shall be summarised within 200 words in English, Hindi or Tamil language.

Q:   Is MBA available at IGNOU?
A:

Yes, IGNOU also offers a two-year MBA programme in General, Banking & Finance, Financial Management, HRM, Marketing Management and Operations Management specialisations. Up until past years, i.e., 2021, IGNOU MBA admission was subject to valid scores obtained by the students in the IGNOU OPENMAT exam. However, for 2023 admission, OPENMAT was not conducted for the January and July sessions. Admission is now being granted on a merit-basis. The programme is offered with English as a medium of instruction and applications for the same can be submitted online on the official website. 

Q:   Is MSc available in IGNOU?
A:

Yes, the Indira Gandhi National Open University offers a two-year MSc course at the postgraduate level. The PG-level course is offered across different specialisations, including Environmental Science, Food Nutrition, etc. IGNOU MSc admission is granted on a merit-basis. Hence, the aspirants performance in the bachelor's degree course is considered for selection. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission is a valid UG degree with required aggregate as per the chosen specialisation. Eligible candidates can apply through the IGNOU official website.
