JNU Fellowship Disbursements: A mass delegation from the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) visited the S&P office at 3 PM on December 4, 2024, to press for approval of the current month's fellowship as well as the pending ones. However, the Deputy Registrar was absent, and office staff revealed that several centers, including the Centre for Social Research and Development (CSRD), had failed to submit the necessary continuation lists to S&P.

Action Taken by JNUSU Representatives

The delegation met with Rector-1 to discuss the delay in fellowship approvals. The rector assured that a meeting would be held tomorrow to resolve the issue, with a notification to be sent to all centers, instructing them to submit the required student lists and continuation papers promptly. He also assured that the S&P staff would prioritize approval for both the current and outstanding fellowships.

Future Course of Action

JNUSU has warned that if approvals are not initiated by December 5, 2024, morning, they will take further actions to ensure the disbursement process begins without delay.

Earlier, a delegation from the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) met with the Joint Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to address concerns about Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) scholars who have not received their fellowships since May, despite the status indicating that the funds have been "generated" in the Scholarship and Fellowship Management Portal. In response, the UGC assured the JNU students that the fellowships would be disbursed soon.
