CloudThat, a cloud training and consulting service provider, has released its IT Certification and Salary Survey report for the session 2025. The report, surveying over 800 professionals across 25 states and 113 cities in India, includes the major aspect of the role of certifications in career advancement, with Microsoft certifications being the most preferred choice among professionals. 

The survey further revealed that Microsoft certifications help employees earn an average entry-level salary of INR 9.1 Lakhs. Further, 42% of the people wish to pursue Microsoft certifications in the coming session, with 57% currently pursuing Microsoft Azure certifications, underscoring their prominence in the IT sector development in India. The certifications enable professionals to have the required skills for cloud computing, cybersecurity and other high-growth fields. 

The report further highlighted a significant growth and boost in earnings across the experience levels. In Tier 1 cities like Bangalore, entry-level professionals earn up to 7.05 Lakhs on average. While the non-certified people had an average of 4.8 Lakh. Furthermore, managers with certifications receive nearly double their salaries in comparison to non-certified colleagues. 

Furthermore, the report emphasises that certifications enhance job effectiveness, boost productivity and increase the chances of promotions as earning certifications equips professionals to confidently lead in specialised roles. Finally, the report concluded by focusing on why certifications are necessary for meeting employer demand for skilled talent and positioning professionals for success in a competitive global market.
