NIMCET 2026 Seat Matrix Released: 1,300 MCA Seats Available Across 13 NITs and 2 IIITs

The exam body NIT Trichy has released the NIMCET 2026 seat matrix. As per the NIMCET seat matrix, a total of 1,300 seats are open for allocation across thirteen National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and two Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). Candidates aiming for admission into MCA course must download the seat matrix from nimcet.admissions.nic.in.

As per the exam body, there is no state quota and admissions are purely on an All India basis, discarding independent state-wise limits. Seat distributions follow reservations as set by the Government of India rules for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories.

The seat matrix also lists that select institutes like NIT Delhi, NIT Kurukshetra, and NIT Patna, offer alternative self-financing tracks with separate fee modules. A majority of participating campuses have also implemented exit policies aligning with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
