NIT Tiruchirappalli has started the NIMCET 2026 registrations for the 2026 session from March 3, 2026 onwards. Candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria can fill the NIMCET 2026 application form till the last date. To register for NIMET 2026, candidates must visit the official website - nimcet.admissions.nic.inThe NIMCET exam is conducted to shortlist candidates for admission into Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes across 11 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and two Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs).

Mode of NIMCET 2026 Exam

Computer Based Test (CBT)

To apply for NIMCET 2026, students must meet following requirements such as 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.Sc., B.Sc. Hons, BCA, or BIT) with Mathematics or Statistics as a subject. 
  • Minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD).
  • B.E. or B.Tech graduates from recognised universities are eligible.
  • Students in the final year of their exam can also apply, provided they submit proof of passing during the admission process.

A total of 1,300 seats are available across participating institutions, including NITs in Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, and Allahabad, as well as IIIT Bhopal and IIIT Vadodara.
