Illinois Institute of Technology Mumbai campus will offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses with higher demands, including computer science, engineering and business.

Illinois Institute of Technology

Illinois Institute of Technology has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to establish its campus in India. After the ratification, Illinois Institute will be the first American University to be approved by UGC to establish an independent degree-granting campus in the country. The campus will be set up in Mumbai, India. Illinois Institute of Technology Mumbai campus will offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses with higher demands, including computer science, engineering and business.

The president of Illinois Institute of Technology said that the institute aims to offer access to technology and innovation for all. The new campus in India represents a profound opportunity to continue the mission to serve the millions of talented young people across India, empowering them to become global leaders ready to make a difference. The institute further aims to offer immersive experiential learning pedagogy for relevance to new students and to cultivate global leaders.

The academically demanding, hands-on, and industry-aligned curriculum offered by Illinois Tech's Mumbai campus will be identical to that of the university's Chicago campuses. This would involve providing Illinois Tech's well-known Elevate program, which ensures that every student has access to practical experiences like research, internships, contests, and other chances that have been shown to specifically prepare graduates for prosperous employment in international marketplaces.

Internationally recruited faculty, including visiting academics from Illinois Tech's U.S. campuses and faculty with international academic credentials, will teach the courses. Indian students will benefit from cross-campus study possibilities, international classroom experiences, and career-accelerating chances without having to move overseas.
