Union Minister Lauches NIELIT Digital University, Inaugurates Five New NIEIT Centres

The Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Mr Ashwini Vaishnaw, officially launched the NIELIT Digital University in New Delhi, which will offer industry-specific courses in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Semiconductors. He also inaugurated five new NIELIT centres.

The Digital University aims to make online education accessible to students from remote areas and villages. Students will be able to access a range of training courses and programs in trending technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Semiconductors, etc. Vaishnaw mentioned that the platform will focus on industry-relevant education to enable the students to become a part of the ever-growing digital economy.
At the launch, NIELIT also exchanged Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Microsoft, Zscaler, CCRYN, Dixon Tech and Future Crime to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
Alongside the Digital University, five new NIELIT centres have been launched in Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Balasore (Odisha), Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Daman (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu), and Lunglei (Mizoram). These centres will help increase opportunities for digital learning in various regions of the country.
Emphasising the broader vision, the Minister said, "The thrust of the NIELIT Digital University will be giving the education required by the industry. It is our Prime Minister's dream to bring education to each corner of every village in the country."
The launch is part of the government's initiative to make education more inclusive with the help of technology to provide equal opportunities for rural and urban students to acquire digital skills and establish careers in new sectors.
