AIBE 21 Exam 2026 will be conducted on June 7, 2026. Candidates will be able to fill the AIBE 21 Application Form 2025 from February 11, 2026 to April 30, 2026. The BCI informed the Apex Court that AIBE Exam will be held twice.
AIBE Exam will be held twice a year, the Bar Council of India informed the Supreme Court. The BCI announced that the final semester law students will be allowed to appear for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). AIBE 21 Exam 2026 will be conducted on June 7, 2026. Candidates will be able to fill the AIBE 21 Application Form 2025 from February 11, 2026 to April 30, 2026
The BCI also told the Bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta that AIBE will be held twice a year henceforth instead of holding it once every year. The Court also disposed of a plea seeking the court's attention on such issues.
"This is the case where (it was sought that) last semester students should be allowed to sit for the AIBE. We have framed the rules. The prayers have been taken care of. The AIBE will be conducted at least twice a year and the last semester students will be allowed to sit for AIBE, subject to them clearing the final (semester) exam," BCI lawyer said.
"The counsel for the petitioner states that the purpose of the writ petition has been served. BCI has already framed AIBE rules 2026," the order stated.
The permission to appear in the AIBE is subject to the candidates clearing their final semester law exam. This move has been brought with an aim to save valuable time for law graduates, allowing them to enrol as advocates and start their practice immediately after completing graduation, rather than waiting for the next exam cycle.
The plea was filed by Delhi University Final Year Law Students challenging a BCI notification that did not allow them from writing the AIBE before graduation. It must be noted that it is must to clear the AIBE to practice in Indian courts.
