Bar Council of India has issued a public notice prohibiting nine Indian law colleges from admitting students. These law colleges have been restricted from admitting students in law courses for upcoming 2026 academic session. These colleges have been barred from admitting students until further notice. This urgent notice serves as a warning for prospective students, parents, universities, and state authorities to be cautious. Reportedly, BCI officials have conducted field audits at these institutes and found several issues, including educational issues. Chaired by former High Court judges and lawyers, the team found deficiencies in the below institues.

Further, board has sent all blacklisted colleges the details of their shortcomings. State authorities and affiliating universities have been advised to freeze all enrollment links of the blacklisted institutes at the earliest.
