The Consortium of NLUs has shared detailed notification for CLAT 2020 exam dates and pattern. Read this article to know the details.
The official notification for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 is out now. In a meeting held on December 11, 2019, the executive committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) met for discussion regarding the modalities of the upcoming exam. The committee has approved exam pattern and schedule for CLAT 2020 in the meeting. Check below the updated schedule and changed the exam pattern.

Changes in CLAT 2020 Exam Pattern
The consortium has also shared the details regarding the changes made in the exam pattern of CLAT as mentioned below:
- As expected, the question paper of CLAT 2020 will be a comprehension-based test and the total number of questions will be 150 only
- The level of question paper for the English language, Current affairs including general knowledge, Legal Reasoning and Logical Reasoning will be of class 12th level only
- For Quantitative Techniques section, the level of questions will be of class 10th only
- The negative marking scheme remains the same as earlier i.e. 0.25 marks will be deducted in case of each wrong attempt
- For LLM paper, candidates securing 40% marks out of total 100 objective type questions (35% marks for SC/ ST) will be considered qualified for ‘Descriptive-type test’.
Moreover, the official notification also stated, ‘Consortium of NLUs website shall provide the necessary guidelines, module-wise model question paper and analysis of question paper. Candidates who enrol for CLAT 2020 alone shall be permitted to access these details from the website of Consortium of NLUs.’
