The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued revised guidelines for the betterment option in CAP Round 2 of MH CET Law counselling 2026. The MH CET Law 2026 CAP betterment rules have been revised for both 3-year and 5-year LLB programmes. The official notification explains how candidates who received seats in MH CET Law CAP Round 1 can participate in the second round while applying for a higher-preference college.
MAH CET Law 2026 Counselling: Betterment Process Explained
According to the Maharashtra CET Cell, candidates who have been allotted a seat in CAP Round 1 and want to participate in CAP Round 2 under the betterment option must check their preference sequence before submitting their choices. If a candidate changes or rearranges the preference sequence submitted during CAP Round 1 and receives a new allotment based on the revised preferences, the candidate's claim on the Round 1 seat will automatically be forfeited.
The MH CET Law 2026 betterment rules are important for candidates planning to change or rearrange their preferences in CAP Round 2. As per the notice, candidates who modify their preferences and receive a new seat will forfeit their claim on the college allotted to them in CAP Round 1. However, candidates who retain their original sequence can continue to seek a higher-preference seat without losing their existing MH CET 2026 Round 1 allotment if no better seat is allotted.
