Telangana LAW Common Entrance Test, earlier known as the TS LAWCET exam, is conducted state-wide to select the candidates for the 3-year and 5-year LLB and LLM Courses offered by the participating institutes across the state. Osmania University is conducting the TS LAWCET 2026 exam and working as the exam conducting/nodal university for the exam.

TS LAWCET Phase 2 Seat Allotment Result 2026 was released on August 29 on its official portal. The candidates were required to log in with the following details to check their allotted seat.

  • TS LAWCET hall ticket number
  • Rank number
  • Mobile number
  • Date of birth

All the inputs were mandatory and without any one of them the seat allotment result was not opening.

Q: ย  Is the syllabus for TSLAWCET and TSPGLCET same?
A: 

The TS LAWCET and TSPGLCET exams have different syllabuses because they are meant for different levels of law courses.

  • TS LAWCET is for admission into 3-year and 5-year LLB programs. Its syllabus includes:
    • General Knowledge and Mental Ability
    • Current Affairs
    • Aptitude for the Study of Law
  • TSPGLCET (Telangana State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test) is for admission into LLM courses. Its syllabus focuses on advanced legal subjects, such as:
    • Jurisprudence
    • Constitutional Law
    • Public International Law
    • Mercantile Law
    • Labour Law
    • Crimes and Torts
    • IPR and Other Laws

So, while both are law entrance exams conducted by Osmania University on behalf of TSCHE, their syllabuses are not the same.

TSLAWCET exam is held by Osmania University, Hyderabad, on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education.

Q: ย  Who is eligible for TS LAWCET counselling?
A: 

To be eligible for TS LAWCET counselling, candidates belonging to the General category must have secured 35% marks in TS LAWCET exam (i.e. 42 marks out of 120 marks). The OBC category students must score atleast 35% marks in TS LAWCET exam (i.e. 42 marks out of 120 marks), and for the SC/ST category, there is no minimum qualifying marks for SC and ST category candidates. However, for the 3-year LL.B. course, any graduate degree candidate with (10+2+3 pattern) from a recognised University or its equivalent can apply and for the 5-year LL.B. course, two year Intermediate Examination with (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent is acceptable. 

The candidate who got a seat in the TS LAWCET Phase 2 Seat Allotment result 2026 has two options.
Option 1
The candidates can accept the seat, pay the admission fee online and report physically at the allotted college for Document and Tuition fee verification by the allotted college authorities. The candidates are required to complete these formalities from August 31 to September 5.
Option 2
If the candidate is not satisfied by the allotted seat, he or she can send an application to the principal or admission controller to cancel the allotted seat. Such candidates should wait for the TS LAWCET Phase 3 Counselling registration. When it opens, register and participate in the TS LAWCET Phase 3 Counselling.
