IIMC 2025 Admissions

In a recent poll survey conducted on Shiksha.com, it has been observed that 31% of students who wish to get admission to the Indian Institute of Mass Communication this year chose the PG Diploma in Hindi Journalism programme, making it the most chosen programme among others. This percentage was closely followed by students who wish to pursue the PG Diploma in Advertising and PR programme at IIMC. 29% of students chose the Advertising and PR course while 24% of students chose English Journalism. Students showed the least interest in Radio and TV Journalism and Urdu Journalism courses at IIMC. 

PGD Hindi Journalism, the most sought-after course at IIMC

All IIMC aspirants had to take the CUET-PG Mass Communication paper. This entrance test was conducted on March 29, 2025. Next up, NTA will release a provisional answer key. Examinees will be able to make challenges on the provisional CUET-PG answer key. When the challenges are taken into consideration, a final answer key will be published. The results of CUET-PG 2025 are likely to be announced in the third week of April 2025. The results will be published in the form of scorecards. Examinees will have to log in using their application number/ username and password to check their CUET PG 2025 results. All of the aforementioned information will be published on NTA’s official CUET-PG portal - exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/.

IIMC 2025 Admission Process after CUET-PG Results

Once the CUET PG results are declared, IIMC will announce the opening and closing ranks for students who are eligible to take admission to the various PG Diploma courses offered at IIMC. These students must have selected IIMC as their preferred institute while filling the CUET-PG application form. Students who fall in this range of ranks will be able to appear for the IIMC counselling procedure. 

IIMC 2025 Counselling Process

The counselling process for IIMC 2025 admissions will take place online on the institute’s website - iimc.gov.in. The various steps of the counselling process are explained in the points below. 

Step 1 - Online Registration - Register on the IIMC portal using CUET PG details and create a password for future logins.

Step 2 - Application Form Submission - Log in and fill in personal, academic (including CUET-PG application number, scorecard details, etc.), and contact details. 

Step 3 - Registration Fee Payment - Students will have to pay a counselling registration fee, which is ₹1,500/- for General category students and ₹1,000/- for Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST category students.

Step 4 - Choice Filling & Locking - Select preferred institutes (IIMC Regional locations) and programs. Modify choices anytime before locking them. Choices will be auto-locked if not locked manually.

Step 5 - Seat Allotment - Seats are allotted based on AIR rank, preferences, and reservation criteria.

Step 6 - View allotment & download the provisional letter that appears on the screen. 

Step 7 - Willingness Submission - Select ā€˜Float’ (Yes - Upgradation) to opt for better choices in the next rounds or ā€˜Freeze’ (No Upgradation) to accept the allotted seat permanently.

Step 8 - Upload Required Documents - In this step, students will have to upload the documents listed below. 

  • Class 10 certificate (Age Proof)
  • Graduation mark sheet or undertaking
  • CUET PG Admit Card & Score Card
  • Category/PwD certificate (if applicable)

Step 9 - Seat Acceptance Fee Payment - Pay ₹20,000/- to confirm the seat. Failure to pay will result in seat cancellation.

Subsequently, students will have to pay the tuition fees for their chosen programmes. They will also be informed of the commencement dates for their classes. It is advised that students keep checking the ā€˜Announcement’ section of the IIMC website and their registered emails and phone numbers for any communication regarding admissions.

IIMC Delhi courses are admissions are entrance-based. Students should have CUET-PG valid score. Students should have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university to become eligible for admission. The admission procedure is listed here:

2: Release of category-wise merit list on IIMC websites.

3: Counselling with campus allocation.

4: Provisional admission confirmation by fee payment and document submission.

5: Physical reporting with NIC application copy signed by parents/guardians.
