CAT 2013: IIM Kozhikode fails to submit several scores to new IIMs; final admission list to be modified on May 23

The six new IIMs (IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Raipur, IIM Trichy, IIM Udaipur and IIM Kashipur) will re-issue their entire admission list on May 23, 2014. Owing to a ‘technical glitch’ IIM Kozhikode failed to submit the scores of several students. The number of students affected by this glitch is not yet clear.

“Due to a technical problem beyond our control, PGP admission results for 2014-16 are currently on hold. We regret the inconvenience caused to candidates. We expect to reactivate the results link by 23rd may 2014,” said a notice on IIM Trichy. View it here.

However, official sources (on condition of anonymity) at IIM Trichy revealed that about 20 to 30 candidates may not be on the final admission list, even though their names appeared on the main list.

“A small percent of students may be affected by this. Their names will not be removed completely by shifted to wait list. Candidates whose scores have not been submitted but deserve to be on final list will be considered,” the official told Shiksha.com exclusively.

Other new IIMs will also change their current admission list. The number of students affected by this glitch could be well above 100.

The issue came to light when several students reported that the IIMs system gave an error message (“Enter correct details”) when candidates tried to check to their results. The candidates then raised the issue with the corresponding institute. IIM Kashipur was one of the first institutes to report back that the candidate’s score doesn’t exist in the database submitted by IIM Trichy for selection of candidates.  

Slowly all other new IIMs reverted back with similar messages. Agitated candidates raised the issue with IIM Trichy who is the admission coordinator for all new IIMs. They further asked the candidates to contact IIM Kozhikode.

“All they said is that there’s been a simple technical error by IIM-Kozhikode which is why scores of some students have not been submitted,” said an affected student. The student has now been waitlisted by IIM Trichy, after the institute recieved his CAT 2013 scores. View image below.
