CAT 2026 Registration Closes on Sept 15 Live Updates; Check Fees & How to Fill IIM CAT Form

Candidates are not allowed to edit details they filled in the CAT application form once they pay the fee. The CAT form correction window only allows candidates to make changes in the uploaded documents or the test city preferences.

Candidates must preview their application form using the "PREVIEW" button before paying the CAT 2026 application fee. After hitting the 'Preview' button, candidates must confirm that they have checked the entered data for accuracy before submitting the final payment.

Candidates registering for CAT 2026 exam must pay the exam fee online through the BillDesk gateway. Accepted payment methods include

• Credit Card
• Debit Card
• Net Banking
• UPI
• Wallet facilities

CAT 2026 application fee is INR 1,350 for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, and INR 2,700 for other categories. CAT exam fee is to be paid once, regardless of the number of IIM programs or institutes selected.

IIM Indore will conduct CAT exam in around 170 test cities across India. These 170 test cities have more than 300 test centres. Candidates are allowed to choose five test cities while filling the CAT exam form. IIM Indore will allot a test centre within any of these cities based on the availability.

Around 70 courses are offered via CAT across all IIMs. Candidates can click the checkbox stating 'Select All' to choose all courses offered via CAT. Candidates are also required to choose preferred interview city for each chosen course from the dropdown menu.

Candidates with work experience must calculate their total experience in days as of July 31, 2026, for the CAT 2026 application. Only full-time employment completed after graduation qualifies. Part-time jobs, project work, internships, articleships, and any work experience prior to graduation will not be considered.

Candidates with a 5-year integrated degree, such as a B.Tech and MBA, should enter their marks according to the university's guidelines for CAT 2026. Generally, the marks for the Bachelor's portion should be recorded under the Bachelor's details, while the marks for the Master's portion should be listed under the Master's degree details.

If a university confirms it has no scheme to convert CGPA into marks, CAT 2026 candidates must calculate equivalence by dividing their CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying by 100. Applicants must present the original equivalence certificate during interviews if shortlisted by participating institutes.

In the HSC section of the CAT 2026 form, candidates who followed a two-year post-10th school structure should select "12th/Equivalent." Those who completed a diploma must choose the "Diploma" option. When calculating the aggregate percentage, candidates should include all subjects listed on the mark sheet and round the result to two decimal places.

Candidates need following documents while filling the CAT exam form 2026:

• Valid and unique personal email address and mobile number
• Class 10 mark sheet for name, date of birth, and aggregate marks verification
• Class 12 or Diploma mark sheets and aggregate percentage calculations
• Bachelor degree marks statements or aggregate marks up to the latest completed semester for final-year candidates
• Work experience start and end dates along with employment details up to July 31, 2026
• Scanned passport-size photograph with white background, not older than six months (1200 x 1200 pixels, .jpg/.jpeg format, maximum size 80 KB, minimum resolution 150 px/inch)
• Scanned copy of candidate signature (80mm x 35mm, .jpg/.jpeg format, maximum size 80 KB, minimum resolution 150 px/inch)
• Valid SC, ST, NC-OBC, or EWS certificate in PDF format, if applying under a reserved category
• Valid PwBD certificate in PDF format, if applicable
• Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI details to complete online fee payment

Candidates who completed Class 10, Class 12, Diploma, or Bachelor's degrees in 2020 or 2021 and were promoted without receiving marks can check the "Promotion/Pass without Marks" option. This allows eligible candidates to fill out the CAT 2026 application form without needing to provide percentage scores for those academic years.

When filling out the Class 10 details in the CAT 2026 application, candidates should include the total marks from all subjects as shown on the mark sheet. It’s important to calculate the aggregate percentage regardless of any specific board regulations. If grades or CGPA have been awarded, candidates must convert them according to the certified procedure established by their respective board.

Individuals with Benchmark Disabilities who are registering for CAT 2026 must specify their type of disability, the percentage of their disability, and their PwD UDID number. Candidates who require wheelchair support or a scribe should indicate their needs on the application form. Those who will be using a scribe must arrange for their own scribe and submit the required affidavit form for the scribe.

Candidates who applied for a new NC-OBC or EWS certificate on or after April 1, 2026, but have not received it yet, may still submit their CAT 2026 application. They must upload an old certificate along with an undertaking format from the website and proof of their new certificate application.

Candidates applying under the EWS category for CAT 2026 must submit a certificate valid for the financial year 2026–27, assessed for 2025-26. The certificate must confirm that the gross annual family income is below INR 8 lakh and that the family does not exceed the specified agricultural or residential property limits.

Category candidates applying under NC-OBC for CAT 2026 must upload a valid certificate issued on or after April 1, 2026. The certificate must be in English or Hindi, state the caste name and resolution number, and explicitly confirm that the candidate does not belong to the Creamy Layer.

Candidates applying under EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, or PwBD categories have to upload scanned PDF copies of their valid certificates during CAT 2026 registration. Scanned copies of original or digital certificates do not require self-attestation. However, self-attestation is required if photocopied documents are scanned and uploaded

Candidates submitting documents for CAT 2026 must ensure that their passport photo measures 1200 x 1200 pixels and their signature measures 80 mm x 35 mm. Both files should be in .jpg or .jpeg format, with each file not exceeding 80 KB in size and having a minimum resolution of 150 pixels per inch.

Candidates are required to enter an emergency mobile number while filling out the personal details section of the CAT 2026 application form. This emergency number should be different from the primary mobile number. Authorities recommend using a number belonging to a close relative or acquaintance who can be reached in an emergency.

The CAT 2026 application form is divided into six sections: Personal Details, Academics, Work Experience, Programmes, Test City, and Declaration. Candidates must complete these sections in order, clicking "Save & Next" at the bottom of each tab to save the information they entered before proceeding to the next section.

Registered candidates who forget their User ID or password can recover them by using the "Forgot User ID/Password" button on the CAT 2026 login page. While recovering the login credentials, candidates have to enter their registered email address and the CAPTCHA code, the system will send the User ID and password directly to the candidate's registered email.

CAT exam fee price 2026 varies based on category of the candidate. 

• Unreserved category candidates need to pay INR 2700 as the CAT registration fee
• Reserved category candidates have to pay INR 1350 as the CAT application fee

CAT registration will close on September 15 at 5 PM. IIM Indore may extend the deadline, likely by seven days based on past trends.

Candidates will receive an email confirmation with their login credentials within minutes of submitting the CAT 2026 registration. The email has the subject line "Registration Successful for CAT 2026".

Candidates must check the 'I Agree' checkbox in the declaration section before submitting their CAT 2026 registration form. By doing so, candidates confirm that all the information provided is accurate and truthful. Submitting incorrect information may result in the cancellation of the candidate's eligibility to take the exam or to seek admission.

Candidates can fill CAT exam form by visiting the official website, iimcat.ac.in. IIM Indore does not accept CAT registration submitted via any other medium.

Domestic candidates must provide a valid 10-digit mobile number when registering for CAT 2026. Candidates registering from outside India should prefix their mobile numbers with the appropriate country code.

IIM CAT registration website will not allow any special characters such as plus signs, hyphens, or zeros in the country code prefix field.

Candidates must enter their name during the CAT 2026 profile registration exactly as it appears on their 10th or SSC certificate. Important personal details, including name, date of birth, mobile number, and email address, cannot be modified after the registration profile has been confirmed and submitted on the online portal.

Candidates should fill out the application form of CAT 2026 exam using recommended web browsers only. The official portal supports the following browsers:

• Mozilla Firefox versions 134 to 151
• Google Chrome versions 126 to 149
• Microsoft Edge versions 126 to 149.

Candidates filling CAT form 2026 on mobile must have any of the following operating systems:

• Android version 4.0 and above
• iOS version 11 and above

Candidates must upload scanned passport-size photographs that are not older than six months and feature a white background. Candidates must retain printed copies of this same photograph. The uploaded photo must be affixed to the physical admit card on the examination day, scheduled for November 29, 2026

Candidates do not need to finish the CAT 2026 application form in a single sitting. The portal allows applicants to save their current session and log in later to continue. This process can be repeated multiple times. However, no editing is allowed once the final payment is completed and the form is submitted

Candidates registering for CAT 2026 must verify their mobile number and email address using a One Time Password. Once the OTP is verified, the system sends the User ID and Password to the registered email and mobile number.

NOTE: Overseas candidates receive the OTP and login credentials solely on their registered email address.

Candidates aspiring for CAT 2026 have to fill and submit the exam form on or before September 15, 5 PM. Those who will miss the CAT 2026 registration deadline will not be able to appear for the exam in the current exam cycle.

CAT registration process 2026 is available on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. Candidates who are yet to fill the exam form for CAT 2026 exam must proceed to fill the form before the last date.
