KEA Hints Postponement of Karnataka PGCET 2026; MBA/MCA Exam Likely on June 13-14
Several candidates have appreached KEA regarding PGCET exam date clash with UPSC prelims. A reply on X by KEA suggests PGCET MBA/MCA exam date to be June 13 or 14.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is likely to postpone the Karnataka PGCET 2026 for MBA and MCA courses. The exam, which was originally notified by KEA for May 24, is expected to be rescheduled to June 13 or June 14. This revision in the Karnataka PGCET MBA exam date is being anticipated as the exam is clashing with UPSC CSE Prelims on May 24.
According to the initial exam schedule, KEA set the Karnataka PGCET 2026 dates for May 23 and May 24. The ME and M.Tech examinations are to be held on May 23, while the MBA and MCA exams were planned for May 24. Because the UPSC Prelims are also scheduled for May 24, several candidates approached KEA demanding a postponement of the MBA exam. Applicants who applied for both the UPSC and the state-level exams reported that the clash forced them to choose one exam over. On the other hand, those who applied for PGCET exam only, are unable to finalise their preparation strategies.
KEA Response on PGCET MBA Exam Date 2026
KEA has not released an official notification regarding the postponement on its website yet. However, official responses from the KEA handle on the social media platform X indicates a probable change in the exam date. In response to a candidate asking when the MCA PGCET 2026 exam will be conducted, the official KEA account replied that the "tentative date is June 13/14 of 2026".
Furthermore, KEA confirmed in a separate social media exchange on May 7 that the M.Tech exams will proceed as originally planned on Saturday, May 23, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. In the same statement, the authority noted that the schedule for MBA and MCA exams will be announced shortly on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/pgcet2026.
Before these recent social media hints, KEA had advised candidates to continue their regular preparation and not wait for a change in the exam date. Candidates are now advised to wait for the formal update.
