TANCET 2026 Exam Live Updates: Anna University will conduct TANCET exam for MBA and MCA courses across 16 test cities today. Candidates appearing for the TANCET 2026 exam must not forget to carry a hard copy of the hall ticket, and a valid photo ID proof. Additionally, candidates must ensure they have a black ballpoint pen to fill the TANCET OMR sheet. First shift of TANCET 2026 exam will be for MCA course from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Whereas, the second shift is being conducted for the TANCET MBA exam, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

TANCET Exam Day Guidelines 2026

Some of the most important guidelines for TANCET 2026 exam day are as follows:

  • Arrival and Entry at TANCET Exam Centre: Reach the exam venue at least one hour before the exam starts. Candidates are required to be seated inside the exam hall 30 minutes before the test begins. Cutoff time to enter the exam hall is up to 30 minutes after the exam starts. However, such candidates loose on their exam time.
  • Documents to Carry: Candidates need to carry a hard copy of their TANCET hall ticket. along with an original valid photo ID. Candidates must also carry a photocopy of that ID. The hall ticket carried on the TANCET exam day is to be retained until the admission process concludes.
  • Stationery and OMR Guidelines: Only black ballpoint pen is permitted for shading OMR sheet. Candidates must shade the circles carefully, as no replacement OMR answer sheets will be given incase of errors.
  • Marking Scheme: Each incorrect response marked in TANCET exam will lead to a penalty of 0.25 marks. Avoid guesswork to maximise on the score that can be obtained.
  • Prohibited Items: Calculators, log tables, and communication devices like cell phones and smartwatches are prohibited inside the TANCET exam hall.
  • Personal Belongings: TANCET exam venue may not have cloakrooms or storage facilities for personal belongings.
  • During the Exam: No candidate is allowed to leave the exam hall until the test ends at 12 Noon (for MCA) or at 4:30 PM (for MBA). Candidates can bring a transparent water bottle with all labels or wrappers removed.

    TANCET 2026 Exam Live Updates: No Electronic Devices Allowed Inside Test Centre

    Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth earphones, calculators, and any other electronic devices are prohibited inside the TANCET exam hall. Candidates found with such devices may be disqualified.

    TANCET 2026 Reporting Time at Test Centre

    TANCET reporting time is not the same as the exam start time. Candidates are expected to be seated inside the hall at least 20-30 minutes before the exam begins. Before the candidates go inside the exam hall, officials at the test centre will verify candidate's identity using hall ticket and valid photo ID proof. Therefore, candidates must try and report at the test centre at least an hour before the exam start time.

    No Digital Copy of TANCET Hall Ticket Allowed

    TANCET hall ticket must be a clear printout on A4 paper. Screenshots on mobile phones are not accepted at the TANCET exam centre gate. Candidates must ensure the photograph and details are clearly visible on the printout.

    No Entry inside TANCET Test Centre 30 Minutes after Exam Starts

    TANCET exam centre gates close 30 minutes after the exam starts, i.e. at 10:30 AM for MCA exam, and at 3 PM for MBA exam. Candidates will not be allowed to enter inside the test centre if they arrive late.
