Haryana MBBS Bond Policy: INR 25 Lakh Penalty & 5 Year Rural Service; Key Details Explained

The Haryana MBBS in-service bond policy has been notified by the Department of Medical Education and Research for doctors to opt for Government service upon completion of MBBS degree course from Government/ Government Aided Medical Colleges in the state of Haryana.
The Haryana Government in assistance from the Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER) has introduced in-service bond policy for students getting admission to MBBS programme at the government medical college in Haryana. MBBS students in the state have to undergo compulsary government service for 5 years after completing their undergraduate education.
The goal of implementing bond policy was to provide affordable, high-quality medical care accessible to everyone, reduce the gap between demand and supply of medical professionals for quality healthcare in the state, and to incentivize MBBS doctors graduating from Government/Government Aided Medical Colleges to work in the government sector to further scale and strengthen overall health facilities in the state.
Haryana In-Service Bond Policy: Consequences of Non-compliance
If students opt out of the bond service responsibility, they would have to pay a penalty. The penalty varies by gender. Female candidates have to pay INR 23,19,381, while INR 25,77,090 are required to be paid by male students as a penalty. Meanwhile, the bond amount for students enrolled on the Government Aided Medical College (MAMC, Agroha) is INR 21,90,000 for males and INR 19,71,000 for females.
The Haryana MBBS bond policy is applicable to all candidates enrolled in the MBBS programme in the Government Medical Colleges from the academic session 2021 onwards. However, the policy is not applicable to candidates admitted under the NRI quota in Government/ Government Aided colleges established in Haryana state.
