KEA has put a hold on the announcement of the Karnataka NEET PG round-3 allotment result due to a direction received from the Karnataka High Court, which states that the option entry window for in-service should be reopened. The seat allotment result is expected to be released on February 17, 2026. Earlier, the last date for the option entry was February 1,1 which has now been extended for the in-service candidates.

Decision of the Bench

The decision has been taken after two candidates belonging to the in-service category approached the High Court. In their petition, they requested KEA to accept Form-H, which was dated January 8 and January 20, to offer de-categorised in-service seats. These seats remained vacant after the second round of counselling. The petitioners had requested the seats to be offered to the eligible in-service candidates before the commencement of the mop-up round. However, no action was taken earlier. The list of these five seats is provided below:

  1. Anaesthesia – GRIMS Gadag
  2. Anaesthesia – Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS) Bidar
  3. General Medicine - KVG Medical College Sullia
  4. Anaesthesia – Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bangalore
  5. Dermatology – Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences

The bench comprising Justice Jayant Banerji and Justice T.M. Nadaf belonging to the Bengaluru division bench reserved its judgment on February 12, which states that “Interim order granted earlier shall be in effect till delivery of judgment, subject to the condition that the respondents are permitted to conduct the option entries and registration of in-service candidates.”
