Karnataka NEET Counselling 2026

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued an important notice regarding medical and dental seat cancellation during NEET UG 2026 counselling. Candidates who have been allotted seats in both MCC and KEA counselling, but wish to accept their MCC or respective state counselling seats, can surrender their KEA-allotted seats. 

As per the notice, the seat cancellation and exit window will remain open till 5 PM on September 20, 2026. Seats surrendered during this period will be considered for the NEET round 3 counselling process. KEA has also mentioned penalties for candidates cancelling seats after the deadline.

KEA NEET UG 2026: Who Can Cancel Their Allotted Seats?

The cancellation facility is applicable for candidates who:

  • Were allotted seats through both MCC and KEA counselling
  • Wish to accept the seat allotted through MCC.
  • Intend to accept a seat in their respective state counselling.
  • Were not allotted seats through MCC but want to cancel their KEA-allotted medical or dental seats.

Penalty for Seat Cancellation

The situation-wise seat cancellation penalty amount is provided below: \

Cancelling a seat allotted in Round 1 after admission INR 5,000
Cancelling a seat after Round 2 but before the last date for entering options for Round 3 INR 5,000 + INR 5,000
 Cancelling a seat after the Round 3 option-entry deadline but before the Stray Vacancy Round option-entry deadline  INR 5,000 + INR 5,000 + INR 1,00,000 for Medical / INR 50,000 for Dental / INR 25,000 for AYUSH
 Cancelling a seat after the Stray Vacancy Round option-entry deadline or surrendering after completion of the Stray Vacancy Round  INR 5,000 + INR 5,000 + applicable penalty and one-year course fee
