Karnataka NEET UG 2026 Counselling: KEA Opens Seat Surrender Window, Check Penalties and Important Dates
KEA NEET UG 2026 seat cancellation window is underway till September 20 at 5 PM. Check eligibility for surrendering KEA-allotted seats, Round 3 rules, cancellation penalties and details of the three-year counselling restriction applicable after late seat surrender.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued an important notice regarding medical and dental seat cancellation during NEET UG 2026 counselling. Candidates who have been allotted seats in both MCC and KEA counselling, but wish to accept their MCC or respective state counselling seats, can surrender their KEA-allotted seats.
As per the notice, the seat cancellation and exit window will remain open till 5 PM on September 20, 2026. Seats surrendered during this period will be considered for the NEET round 3 counselling process. KEA has also mentioned penalties for candidates cancelling seats after the deadline.

KEA NEET UG 2026: Who Can Cancel Their Allotted Seats?
The cancellation facility is applicable for candidates who:
- Were allotted seats through both MCC and KEA counselling
- Wish to accept the seat allotted through MCC.
- Intend to accept a seat in their respective state counselling.
- Were not allotted seats through MCC but want to cancel their KEA-allotted medical or dental seats.
Penalty for Seat Cancellation
The situation-wise seat cancellation penalty amount is provided below: \
