NEET UG 2026 cutoff reduction fake notice has been exposed. MCC confirmed that no such decision has been made and urged students to trust only its official website, mcc.nic.in.

NEET UG 2026 Cutoff Reduction Notice

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued an advisory for all medical aspirants participating in the NEET UG counselling 2026. This urgent notice comes after a fake notice began circulating across popular social media channels, including WhatsApp and Telegram groups. The MCC NEET UG cutoff reduction fake notice misleadingly claimed that the MCC had approved a significant reduction in the qualifying percentile for the ongoing undergraduate medical admissions. Officially clearing the confusion for students, stakeholders and parents, the MCC has debunked the claim, declaring the document completely fake and misleading.

MCC NEET Counselling 2026: No Decision Taken on NEET UG Percentile Reduction

In the formal advisory released on October 13, 2026, the committee stated that it received information about an unauthorised letter claiming reduction in the cutoff percentile. The fake letter claimed that the qualifying criteria had dropped to 15 percentile for General/EWS candidates and 10 percentile for reserved categories. However, the council clarified that the current qualifying percentile criteria remain entirely unchanged.

MCC has further reiterated instructions for candidates to avoid falling prey to unauthorised agents or misleading notices. To protect the interests of students, the committee highlighted that students must only follow mcc.nic.in for updates and report misleading information ย directly to the council or local cybercrime cells.
