Q:   If I opt to participate in second round of NEET UG counseling, will my allotted seat of first round be cancelled?
A:

In case candidates are not allotted any seat in the second round of the NEET UG counselling, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will be retained. Therefore, candidates are advised to fill in only higher choices or any other choice which they prefer over the earlier allotted seat, for second round.

MCC has introduced concept of "Exit with Forfeiture." This means that if a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 2 or any later round but decides not to join allotted college, they can exit NEET counselling process. Also, security deposit paid during registration will be forfeited. Once a candidate joins allotted seat after Round 3, resignation or surrender of that seat is not allowed under any circumstances.

NEET refund and forfeiture rules remain applicable across Government colleges, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, AMU, BHU, B.Sc. Nursing and Deemed Universities participating in MCC counselling. Candidates opting for Deemed Universities should carefully read NEET counselling rules before registration, as security deposit is also liable to be forfeited if they fail to join allotted institute after seat allotment.
