NEET PG 2024: AIMSA urges Mansukh Mandaviya to extend internship completion deadline to August 31

Currently the NEET PG 2024 internship completion deadline is August 15, 2024, which will make many medical students not eligible for NEET PG 2024 exam, the student union has requested an extension of internship completion deadline.

All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) has written to the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya and requested to extend internship completion deadline to August 31, 2024.

The application process 2024 includes registration on the official website, filling the application form, uploading of documents, and payment of registration fee. The application feee is INR 5,015 (Inclusive of GST) for General and OBC, and INR 3,835 (Inclusive of GST) for SC/ST/PWD/Physically Handicapped.

"The current internship completion deadline of August 15, 2024, has left numerous medical students facing a daunting challenge, being only a few days away from meeting this cutoff. Recognizing the significance of adherign to standards in medical education, we propose a reasonable extension of the internship completion date to August 31, 2024," reads AIMSA letter to Mansukh Mandaviiya.

The students' union said that the extension would ensure equal opportunities for aspiring doctors across the nation, fostering a fair and inclusive environment for the NEET PG 2024 examination, added AIMSA.

NEET PG 2024: Latest Updates

The exam has been recently postponed to July 7, 2024. Earlier, it was expected to be held on March 3, 2024. NEET PG 2024 application process is expected to start in the first week of May, 2024. The admit card is likely to be uploaded on June 2024. 

The examination will be held for admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country.
