NEET PG Cutoff 2025: The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences has informed the Supreme Court that it had no role to play in the reduction of NEET PG 2025 qualifying percentile.
NBEMS informed this in counter affidavit filed in response to petitions against the NEET PG cut off reduction. NBEMS said that the decision fell in the exclusive domain of the Directorate General of Health Services and National Medical Commission.
National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences said its role is limited to conducting the NEET PG exam, evaluating results and giving it to NMC.Β
According to NBEMS, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare informed it of the decision to reduce the qualifying percentile for the Round 3 of NEET PG Counselling. Following this decision, NBEMS reduced the cut off.

NBEMS also informed the Supreme Court that due to lowering of cutoff, more 95913 candidates have now become eligible to participate in remaining counselling stages. Any decision by court will impact these candidates, NBEMS added.
All medical organisations are raising their concern regarding the drastic reduction in cut off. Β Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association Β had written to JP Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare regarding their concern that such low reduction is permitting candidates with negative marks to qualify across all categories.
The unprecedented reduction in the cutoff is deeply alarming and it is not in interest of the medical education as it dilutes the very purpose of the examination, said the Association.
