NEET PG Counselling 2026 Update

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued an official clarification following panic and disappointment among NEET PG 2026 aspirants over incorrect exam city allocations. Several candidates reported receiving text messages containing random exam locations, sparking confusion and anxiety just weeks before the exam date.

NEET PG aspirants from across the country have once again raised their concerns on X with tweets voicing their issues over the handling of examinations. NEET PG 2026: Random Allocations Spark Distress Among Candidates

The trouble started shortly after the release of the NEET PG 2026 city intimation slips. Students took to social media to share screenshots of text messages showing highly unexpected test locations. Many candidates found themselves assigned to cities hundreds of kilometres away from their preferred choices or home states, eventually increasing mental stress during preparation days.

NBEMS Issues Official Clarification

In response to the growing issues, NBEMS released an updated notice to clear the chaos. The authority confirmed that the test city allocation was successfully carried out on schedule via their main website. However, a sudden technical glitch in the messaging system disrupted the communication flow. As a result of this technical hitch, the automated text messages sent out to a specific section of candidates displayed the wrong examination city.

Officials concluded the advisory by reminding candidates to rely strictly on the official website to download their city intimation slip and ignore unverified notifications or social media rumours.
