NEET SS Round 2 Counselling 2025

NEET SS Counselling: Medical Counselling Committee has announced round 2 of NEET Super Speciality counselling 2025 will remain on hold due to pending hearing Tamilvani & Others vs State of Tamil Nadu & Others. The development is linked to 151 vacant NEET Super Speciality seats including DM and MCh seats in Tamil Nadu.

MCC notice dated June 6, 2026, Supreme Court, in its order dated May 29, directed Government of Tamil Nadu to inform Director General of Health Services about 151 unfilled Super Speciality seats. Following court's direction, MCC requested state government to revert these seats to DGHS/MCC so that they could be included in ongoing NEET SS counselling process.

MCC stated that despite repeated communications and requests for early transfer of seats that are vacant, an immediate response was not received from state government. Chairman of MCC also wrote to Principal Secretary, Health, Government of Tamil Nadu, seeking compliance with Supreme Court's directions. But Tamil Nadu government informed MCC on June 5 that it had filed a review petition before Supreme Court on June 4 regarding this matter.
