Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a major update for NEET UG 2026 counselling process. The committee has delayed the Round 1 choice locking process till further notice. According to the official schedule, the choice locking window was supposed to open on August 12 at 4 PM. However, the link is still not active on August 13. This delay has caused sudden stress among medical aspirants. However, MCC has notified that the NEET UG 2026 round 1 choice-locking link will be activated shortly at mcc.nic.in. 

Why NEET 2026 Round 1 Choice Locking Not Started Yet?

Reportedly, when candidates logged in to lock their college preference list on August 12, they found the locking feature unavailable. The portal did not activate the required link at 4 PM. The delay continued, and students started sharing their concerns on social media platforms. Later, MCC notified that the choice locking process would begin soon. However, the exact reason for the delay has not been communicated yet.

MCC Latest Notice NEET UG 2026 Update

The MCC posted a message on its website asking candidates to wait patiently. The website alert says that choice locking has not started yet. It adds that the new MCC Round 1 choice locking start date and time will be announced soon. The committee advises students to keep checking the official portal for changes.
