NEET UG Choice Filling 2026 Round 1 Ends Today: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) closes the choice filling for round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 today on their official website. Candidates must complete the choice filling within given time frame. The Round 1 choice filling is being conducted from August 7 to 13, 2026 in online mode. The choice locking facility will conclude soon. The Seat allotment processing is expected to take place from August 13 to August 16, 2026 on the official website.

How to fill NEET UG Choice Filling 2026 for Round 1?

The students are advised to follow the below mentioned steps:

  • Once the registration process is closed, candidates must complete their choice filling on the MCC portal.
  • Next, you have to choose the college/ course in the desired order of preference.
  • You have to fill in any number of choices from the list provided on the portal.
  • You can also add or delete a choice.
  • Submit it and save a copy of the choices filled for further reference.

No, the RE NEET 2026 was not postponed. The exam was held as scheduled on June 21.

Q:   If I opt to participate in second round of NEET UG counseling, will my allotted seat of first round be cancelled?

In case candidates are not allotted any seat in the second round of the NEET UG counselling, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will be retained. However, on up-gradation of a seat in the second round, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will automatically be cancelled and allotted to another candidate. Therefore, candidates are advised to fill in only higher choices or any other choice which they prefer over the earlier allotted seat, for second round.

The seat allotment result for round 1 is expected to be declared on August 17, 2026. Those candidates who will be allotted a seat must report to the allotted institute within the given period of deadline i.e from August 18 to August 22, 2026. Also, the verification of the joined candidates' data will be done on August 23, 2026.
