National Medical Commission (NMC) said that a fake allotment letter was issued for the MBBS course which was allegedly signed by Secretary NMC, however, it is fake as the commission does not issue any such letter for admission in the medical colleges and also is not involved in the allotment process.

National Medical Commission (NMC) has warned medical aspirants that they noticed there is a fake letter for allotment of seats for the MBBS course which is reportedly signed by the Secretary of NMC. The commission has said that the letter is fake as it never issues any such letter.

Β β€œIt has come to the notice of NMC that a fake letter for allotment of seats for MBBS course was issued under the alleged signature of Secretary, National Medical Commission. It is brought to the notice of the public thatΒ none of the officers of NMC and its Boards issues any letter either for admission in the medical college or is involved in the medical college allotment process,” said NMC's notice.

Fake MBBS allotment letter is to tarnish NMC's image

The commission has warned the MBBS aspirants and their parents against any such letter.

"Accordingly, all the students, parents, guardians etc are advised not to fall into the traps of miscreants who are issuing such letters in the name of officers of this commission. Such incidents are also intended to tarnish the image of the National Medical Commission which in fact is mandated to supervise highest ethical standards in medical profession," added NMC's statement.
