Last week, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) reduced to NEET-PG 2023 Cut-off to zero, for candidates to be eligible for counselling across all categories.

The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea challenging the reduction in NEET-PG Cut-off by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Last week Union Government reduced the NEET-PG Cut-off to zero percentile.

While hearing a petition filed against the decision of the Central Government to lower the NEET-PG cut-off to zero percentile, the Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice, DY Chandrachud, Justice Manoj Misra and Justice JB Pardiwala dismissed the PIL.

The apex court observed that the petitioner (a lawyer) had no locus standi to challenge the decision, the SC bench dismissed the petition, reported Live Law.

Last week, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) reduced to NEET-PG 2023 Cut-off to zero, for candidates to be eligible for counselling across all categories. As per the ministry, reducing the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023 to zero will increase the pool of qualifying candidates but not dilute the merit system for admission to PG medical courses.

Health Ministry also clarified that it will not happen that students with zero percentile can also become specialist doctors. Students with the highest marks will be eligible for admission to their choice of courses and colleges.
