Union Minister Launches Inter AIIMS Referral Portal, Emphasizes Progress in Research During CIB Meeting

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Chaired the 8th Central Institute Body Meeting of All India Institutes of Medical Sciences where he launched the Inter AIIMS Referral portal to streamline patient transfer process for seamless healthcare experience. 

All India Institutes of Medical Sciences conducted the 8th Central Institute Body Meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Union Minster for Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda. 

During the meeting, several agendas concerning the development of AIIMS as Institutes of Excellence in teaching, learning, clinical care and research were the point of discussion. During the meeting, it was highlighted that out of 22 AIIMS approved under the scheme, 18 AIIMS are currently active and offering state-of-the-art, affordable tertiary care health service to the people who need medical help in the remote areas of the country. 

The Union Health Minister introduced the Inter AIIMS Referral Portal, developed by AIIMS Delhi. He emphasized that all AIIMS should work together as a community to exchange best practices and learn from one another in order to offer the best healthcare services. The minister stressed that the highest standards of quality in treatments and consequences are required, and they should be efficiently employed for better governance and patient convenience. He stated, "highest standards of quality in processes and outcomes should be ensured through appropriate accreditation/certification and Information Technology should be effectively used for improved governance and patient convenience".  He also stated that while principles must remain consistent, freedom in operation is required to draw out the best in each institute.
