Rules for AIIMS MBBS Admission Criteria 2026

AIIMS is the top medical institute in India for the MBBS course. The AIIMS MBBS eligibility criteria 2026 is very simple. All seats in every AIIMS campus are open to all Indian students under the MCC NEET AIQ counselling 2026. 

This means there are no state domicile rules for AIIMS. Students do not need a state residence certificate to apply for AIIMS MBBS admissions. Any student with a high NEET rank can get a seat in AIIMS across India. The system calls these AIIMS open quota seats. Students only need to clear the basic medical fitness test during final college reporting.

Domicile Rules for Central Universities NEET Seats

To get Central Universities MBBS or BDS seats, students' school location matters. These colleges have special seats reserved for local students.

For example, Delhi University (DU) has an internal quota for admission through NEET. Students must pass Class 11 and Class 12 from a school located in Delhi. This is the official DU internal quota NEET rule. Students who studied outside Delhi cannot apply for these local DU seats.

Similarly, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have similar rules. Although Open national seats are also available, they require much higher marks.
