With one medical college in each district, there will be no shortage of doctors: Haryana CM
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has announced one medical college in each district of the state to reduce the shortage of doctors.
“An announcement has been made to open medical colleges in every district of the state. The land has also been identified in the Sirsa district. When our government was formed in 2014, there were 750 MBBS seats. With the opening of new medical colleges, now these seats have become 1,600. When more medical colleges open in each district, then these seats will go up to 2,900. With this, there will be no shortage of doctors in the state. Simultaneously, the government has opened a girls’ college within a radius of 20 km. Under the ‘Chhatra Parivahan Suraksha Yojana’, the government is also ensuring their safety,” said Khattar, as reported by Indian Express.
Khattar cited NITI Aayog's report to show how Haryana is improving in education field
To highlight the education reforms of Haryana, the Chief Minister said, “Continuous improvement is being done in the field of education. In the latest report presented by NITI Aayog, Haryana has been placed first in bringing educational reforms. The state government has distributed tablets free of cost to five lakh students of classes X, XI and XII by spending Rs 650 crore. Haryana is the first state in the country to do so. The government is continuously opening Model Sanskriti Schools.”
He announced development projects worth INR 575 crore including INR 34 crore for the water drainage system of Sirsa, INR 226 crore for development works in rural areas, and INR 2 crore for the sports stadium at Mamber Khera. He also said that eliminating social evils like drug abuse is his government's priority.
