Ministry of Science & Technology invites project proposals from 'Yoga & Meditation' researchers
The last date of proposal submission is extended to 30 April 2020.
The Department of Science and Technology invites research proposals from scientists, academicians, yoga practitioners coming from a research background in Yoga & Meditation under Science & Technology of Yoga & Meditation (SATYAM). SATYAM is an interdisciplinary endeavor of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) that interfaces with Medicine, Physiology, Psychology, Neuroscience, Philosophy, etc. The Programme converges different & diverse disciplines as well as approaches & methods in the study of yoga and meditation.
In light of the above, SATYAM invites research proposals from scientists, academicians, yoga practitioners, preferably having prior research experience in scientific aspects of 'Yoga & Meditation'. Multi-centric, interdisciplinary research proposals are also encouraged.
SATYAM: Research Proposal Themes
Researchers are advised to submit their proposals based on the themes mentioned below:
(1) Investigations on the effect of Yoga and Meditation on physical and mental health and wellbeing.
(2) Investigations on the effect of yoga and meditation on the body and mind in terms of basic processes and mechanisms. Additionally, scientific studies, which provide development and standardization of protocols, consolidation of existing knowledge in the Indian perspective, etc. are also encouraged.
SATYAM Research Project: Eligibility
Scientists, academicians, yoga practitioners with a research background in 'yoga and meditation' are invited to participate in this initiative. The project encourages practitioners actively involved in yoga and meditation practices are also encouraged to apply in collaboration with academic and research institutions of repute. Interested researchers are required to submit research proposals in their area of expertise along with Endorsement Certificate from the Head of the Institution and detailed bio-data of PI and Co-PIs.
Please Note: The project proposal format is available on the DST websites: www.dst.gov.in and onlinedst.gov.in.
Project duration: The project is tenable for a maximum period of three (3) years.
SATYAM Research Project: Steps to submit
Project proposal in the prescribed format should be submitted at online portal of DST i.e. e-PMS (onlinedst.gov.in) following the steps given below:
Step 1: Principal Investigators have to register themselves at e-PMS
Step 2: Upload the proposal in the prescribed format available on e-PMS under KIRAN Division at DST website
Candidates must note that two hard copies of the submitted research proposal should also be sent to Dr Vandana Singh, Scientist-E, Department of Science and Technology, Technology Bhawan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-II 0016, by Speed Post. The envelope should be superscribed with "SAT YAM". The last date of Proposal Submission is extended to 30 April 2020.
