NEET 2022 Application Process Extended till May 20
NTA has further extended the NEET 2022 application deadline till May 20, 9 pm. The application fee can be paid till 11.50 pm on the same day. NTA's official notification reads, "In continuation of the Public Notices dated: 01 May 2022 and 05 May 2022, and in view of the request received from the Office of Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, it has been decided to further extend the last date for submission of Application Forms of NEET (UG) - 2022."

AFMS Institutes to Accept NEET 2022 Scores for BSc Nursing Courses
It has been decided by the Director-General, Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) that the scores of NEET (UG) will be used for the selection of female candidates only for admission to the BSc (Nursing) Course 2022 at six Nursing colleges of the AFMS.

NEET 2022 Application Deadline Extended till May 15
NEET 2022 application date has been extended from May 6 to May 15, 9 pm. The application fee has to be paid by the same date, by 11.50 pm. Originally, the last date to apply and pay the application fee for NEET 2022 were May 6 and May 7 respectively. NTA has extended the application deadline in order to let Nursing aspirants for AFMS colleges to submit their applications, since these colleges would accept NEET scores this year onwards.

Upper Age Limit Removal Will Lead to Higher Competition
This year, the NEET 2022 eligibility criteria has undergone change in terms of the upper age limit. The upper age limit has been scrapped for all the candidate categories. However, the lower age limit remains 17 years. Hence, candidates applying for NEET 2022 should be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2022. The lower age limit is the same for candidates across categories.

NEET 2022 to be Conducted in a Single Day and Single Slot Window
The Ministry of Education and NTA had been mulling over the idea of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the notification has clarified that the exam will be conducted only once. The timing of the exam is 2 pm to 5.20 pm. Hence, candidates must ensure a better and stronger preparation strategy to ensure a high score, as they have only one chance in a year to crack the exam and grab a coveted seat.

NEET 2022 Exam Centres Increased Substantially
NEET 2022 exam centres will be located in 543 cities across India and 14 cities abroad. As compared to last year, there has been a substantial increase. Till 2020, NEET exam centres were located only in India. Last year, the exam was conducted in two international cities – Dubai and Kuwait. This year, the international exam cities for NEET will be located across South East Asia, UAE and Africa.

NEET 2022 Duration Increased
The duration of NEET 2022 has been increased by 20 minutes, hence the total duration of the exam is now 200 minutes instead of 180 minutes. The exam will be conducted from 2 pm to 5.20 pm. However, there will not be any break in between and candidates will have to attempt the NEET 2022 question paper at one go and submit the test booklet/OMR sheet to the individual before leaving the exam hall.

NEET 2022 Registration in Single Phase
Unlike last year, the NEET 2022 registration process will be conducted in a single phase. All the details, including the parents'/guardian's occupation and annual family income, has to be entered within the NEET application form 2022 which has been released on April 6. Last year, candidates had to enter this information in the second phase of registration, which was conducted after the exam and before the declaration of the result. Candidates must be careful about entering the details and crosscheck each information before final submission and the payment of the application fee.

NEET 2022 Application Fee Increases
The NEET 2022 application fee has been increased by INR 100 for each category. For candidates who would select an international NEET 2022 exam centre, the application fee to be paid is INR 8,500. The application fee is given in the table below.
