NID DAT Mains 2022 - All you need to know about Studio Test, SoP, and Portfolio Review

The DAT Mains exam will be conducted in Hybrid mode. Candidates will be shortlisted for DAT Mains 2022 based on their performance in DAT Prelims.

The National Institite of Design (NID) will conducted the NID DAT 2022 Mains exam in Hybrid mode. The Mains exam for B.Des will include a Studio Test, which will be conducted in offline mode in various cities across the country. The Mains exam for the M.Des will include a Studio Test and an Interview. The Studio Test will be conducted in offline mode at NID campuses, while the interview will be held offline.

The result of M.Des DAT Prelims has been declared; the result for the B.Des program will be declared in the last week of April 2022.  

Shortlisting of candidates for NID DAT 2022 Mains

Candidates would be shortlisted for DAT Mains on the basis of their score in DAT Prelims 2022. The number of candidates shortlisted would be at least THREE times the available seats in each category. 

The final NID DAT 2022 score would be calculated by giving weightage to both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. The weightage carried by each test hasn't been notified yet.

Statement of Purpose and Portfolio Review - Key Points

  • Candidates who are shortlisted for DAT Mains 2022 have to upload a State of Purpose (SoP) and Portfolio.
  • The window for uploading the SoP and Portfolio would be notified by the National Institute of Design through its result portal. Separately, candidates will also be intimated through their registered e-mail ids. 
  • Separate SoPs and Portfolios for each discipline - If the candidate is shortlisted for multiple disciplines, then he/she has to upload separate SoPs and Portfolios for each discipline.
