Odisha government has asked schools to start the admission process of elementary and secondary schools while following all the social distancing guidelines. 

The Odisha government has directed all the government-run and aided schools to complete the admission process of elementary and secondary schools by July 15, 2020.

Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan have announced that the examination has not conducted by the department as the schools were shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, hence the department has decided to start the admissions in the elementary and secondary schools from Monday.

The admissions will be conducted in all the schools including the schools with less than 20 students. With regard to the schools with less than 20 students, the government has decided to merge the schools which have less than 20 students with the bigger schools close by.

The state government has also asked the school authorities to carry on the admission process from 7 a.m to 9.30 a.m on all working days. It has also asked them to allow only five students and their parents, into the school at a time for the admission process, in order to maintain social distancing norms. The admissions will be conducted at the government, government-aided and unaided recognized schools, Madrassas, and Sanskrit schools under the School and Mass Education Department. 

The headmasters of all the schools have been asked to make sure that all the coronavirus guidelines issued by the government including the use of face masks, social distancing rules, and sanitization are followed during the admission process.

Meanwhile, Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has said that the schools in the country will be reopened after August, after doing a thorough assessment of the coronavirus situation in the country.
