Primary Classes in Punjab to reopen from January 27 amid strict COVID-19 guidelines
The timings will remain the same from 10 am to 3 pm. However, students will have to get written consent from the parents in order to attend school.
The minister further said as per the decision, Classes 3 and 4 students will be allowed to attend the school from January 27. From February 1, Classes 1 and 2 will be restarted at all schools, he said. The timings will remain the same from 10 am to 3 pm. Mr Singla directed officials and school managements to ensure proper cleaning of premises and follow the COVID-19 safety norms. He said detailed guidelines will be issued soon to all district education officers, which will be circulated to all government, aided and private schools.
Along with Punjab, its neighboring state Haryana has also announced that the schools in Haryana will be reopened for Classes 6 to 8 from the first week of February.
“The COVID cases are gradually coming down and the situation has improved. Moreover, the COVID-19 vaccination drive has also begun. So, we have decided to reopen schools for Classes 6 to 8 from February first week,” the minister told reporters.
