AFCAT exam is conducted to select Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches.

Candidates are required to report to the exam centre from 07:30 am onwards (for the first Shift) and 12:30 pm onwards (for the second Shift) as per the time slot mentioned in the admit card.

Blue tooth device, communication/ electronic/ digital/ wireless devices such as calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, pager, organizer, personal digital assistant(PDA), concealed microphone or camera, earphones, radio, headset, walkman, recorder, translator, etc. are not allowed inside the exam hall.

Important chapters for Maths are Numerical Ability, Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams). 

The photo-identity proofs required along with AFCAT admit card PAN card/passport/Driving License/Voter’s ID card or any other valid photo identity proof with details of name, father’s name and date of birth.

Personal items such as wristwatch/wristband, bracelets, handbags, ornaments, wallet, purse, head gear, scarf, goggles, jacket, eatables items, etc. are not allowed inside the exam centre.

AFCAT guidelines related to dress code are given below.

• Candidates need to wear slippers/sandals with flat heels
• Closed footwear such as shoes is not allowed in the exam centre
• Clothes with large buttons are not permitted.
• Candidates wearing attire for religious purpose will be thoroughly frisked

The process to download AFCAT admit card is given below.

• Visit IAF website
• Go to the on 'Candidate's Login' 
• The login page opens 
• Enter username and password
• The admit card appears on the screen
• Download AFCAT admit card and take its printout

AFCAT 1 city intimation slip is released by the examination. The city intimation slip displays the allotted test cities.
