The Indian Air Force is all set to conduct AFCAT 1 2026 exam on January 31 at more than 100 test cities. The exam will be conducted online. The admit card and city intimation slip has been released. The exam will be conducted in two shifts-9.45 am to 11.45 am to 2.45 pm to 4.45 pm. AFCAT exam analysis will be provided on this page after the exam. The paper analysis helps candidates to know the section-wise difficulty, overall difficulty, distribution of questions, weightage of topics, number of good attempts, AFCAT expected cut off, etc. Candidates qualifying the online test of AFCAT are called for AFSB Interview. AFCAT Exam Guidelines 2026
AFCAT exam day guidelines are given below.
- Candidates are required to report to the exam centre in batches from 07:30 am onwards (for the first Shift) and 12:30 pm onwards (for the second Shift) as per the time slot mentioned in the admit card
- They should put only the thumb impression on the admit card in advance, before proceeding to the exam centre. Signatures on the admit card are to be done in front of the invigilators
- Candidates must reach AFCAT exam centre as per the reporting time for frisking, verification process, biometrics, identification and inspection of admit card, ID proof, photograph, signature, etc.
- They should bring one valid photo-ID proof
- Electronic items are not allowed inside the exam centre

Yes, there is a negative marking in AFCAT exam. For each wrong answer, one mark is deducted.
AFCAT exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as number of sections, weightage of topics, time duration, total marks, marking scheme, etc. AFCAT exam is divided into online test and AFSB interview. Besides AFCAT candidates who applies for the technical branch are required to appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). AFCAT test comprises different sections such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English . Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. EKT carries questions from Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electrical & Electronics. AFCAT carries a total of 100 questions whereas, EKT carries 50 questions. The total marks allotted to AFCAT are 300 whereas, EKT carries 150 marks. The duration of AFCAT exam is two hours whereas EKT is held for 45 minutes. Both AFCAT and EKT is held in online mode and the language of the question paper is English.
