Bihar Constable Recruitment: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted multi-state raids as part of a money laundering investigation into the alleged Bihar Constable Recruitment Exam scam of 2023, according to a PTI report.
The searches, carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), covered multiple locations including Patna and Nalanda in Bihar, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, and Kolkata in West Bengal. The report stated that the alleged masterminds behind this scam are also linked to the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case.
As part of the operation, ED officials also raided a printing press in Kolkata where the exam papers were reportedly printed. Earlier, Bihar Police had arrested seven individuals in connection with the case, including three from West Bengal.
Bihar Police Constable Recruitment
The Bihar Police Constable Recruitment 2023 aimed to fill 21,391 vacancies across various police units. The exam was held on October 1 at 529 centres across 37 districts and saw participation from over 18 lakh candidates. However, following allegations of a paper leak, the exam was cancelled by the Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) on October 3, 2023.
